چکیده

Quantify the amount of GC use in newly diagnosed granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA) and microscopic (MPA) commercially insured Medicare fee for service (FFS) populations. Using 2016-2019 Milliman proprietary commercial claims data 100% FFS Innovator Research data, GPA MPA were identified index years 2017 2018 as those at least two qualifying coded a disease ICD-10-CM code. Newly patients no claim or 12 months prior to their first 2018. Oral injectable was non-inpatient using NDC HCPCS codes. Use GCs during inpatient stays is not identifiable, such this analysis underestimates total load. The prednisolone-equivalent dose milligrams (mg) calculated by converting scripts/claims basis. We 390 70 3,719 1,168 who also had eligibility date through 18 after date. cumulative doses were: 32% 33% used 1-999 mg; 39% 1,000-4,999 25% 16% 5,000-9,999 11% 13% 10,000+ mg, respectively population. 46% 26% 29% 37% 19% 28% 6% 8% Most treated high amounts GCs. Given side-effects reported doses, report highlights need sparing therapies.

Myeloperoxidase-antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated systemic vasculitis developed from ANCA negative renal limited vasculitis

RATIONALE The relationship between antineutrophil cytoplasmic autoantibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis (AAV) and ANCA-negative vasculitis has not been elucidated. PATIENT CONCERNS A 64-year-old female with edema and proteinuria was admitted. A kidney biopsy indicated focal proliferative nephritis with crescents in 25% of glomeruli. Serum ANCA was negative. Eighteen months later, systemic sym...

Concomitant drug- and infection-induced antineutrophil cytoplasmic autoantibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis with multispecific ANCA.

OBJECTIVE To report the first case of concomitant drug- and infection-induced antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA)-associated vasculitis (AAV) in a patient treated with propylthiouracil (PTU) and suffering from tuberculosis. PRESENTATION AND INTERVENTION A 28-year-old woman with PTU-treated hyperthyroidism presented with fever, purpura, pulmonary cavitations and ANCA to myeloperoxidas...

Renal involvement in anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic autoantibody associated vasculitis.

Renal involvement is a common and often severe complication of anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic autoantibody (ANCA) associated vasculitides (AAV). With the exception of Churg-Strauss syndrome (CSS), where kidney involvement is not a prominent feature, renal disease is present in about 70% of patients with Wegener's granulomatosis, now called granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA) and in almost 100% ...

Anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis: where to go?

Enormous progress has been made during the last 25 years in our understanding of the aetiopathogenesis of the anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic autoantibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitides (AAV). This has led to improvements in early diagnosis, treatment and secondary prevention of these diseases. Nevertheless, there are still unmet needs in the AAV. With respect to diagnosis and follow-up, sensitive ...

Clinical outcomes of treatment of anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis based on ANCA type.

OBJECTIVE To evaluate whether the classification of patients with anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis (AAV) according to ANCA type (anti-proteinase 3 (PR3) or anti-myeloperoxidase (MPO) antibodies) predicts treatment response. METHODS Treatment responses were assessed among patients enrolled in the Rituximab in ANCA-associated Vasculitis trial according to both A...
